I rented a house to a lady. On Dec 10, she gave me notice that she was moving by Jan 31, 2007. She has not paid rent for Dec or Jan. Now it looks like she will not be gone at the end of Jan. Can I lock her out on Feb 1, or must I start the lengthy eviction proceedings?

Hello, I once worked for a web/design company, and when I first started, I was told to create a website with certain images and files. I did so. Years later, a photo distribution company has approached the owners of the website with a demand for payment. This company is now going after my old employer. My old employer is now coming after me, saying that it would be my fault, since I build the website. I was just the programmer, and my old boss was the "creative director". I was constantly told by him, on more than one occasion to use material that didn't belong to us. My question is this: Is the employee responsible/liable, or is the owner of the company who sells, approves, and releases the website? Just want to know where I stand.

What is the difference between a limited liability company and a limited liability partnership?
A limited partnership consists of at least one general partner and one limited partner. The general partner is potentially liable for all the obligations of the partnership. The limited partner has limited liability. Limited partners may jeopardize their limited liability status if they actively participate in the business of the partnership. A limited liability company consists of one or more members which may be individuals, partnerships, limited partnerships, trusts, estates, associations, corporations, other limited liability companies or other business entities. The members of a limited liability company are afforded limited liability similar to shareholders of a corporation and have pass-through taxes comparable to a partnership. (CA State)
